This is a fun, but memorable gift to give to someone special like grandparents, aunts and uncles etc.
What you'll Need:
13 sheets of white construction paper, or other slightly heavy paper
black fine tip felt marker
poster or acrylic paints in various colors to fit the months
Instructions:
On your computer print out a calendar for the year, one month per page. Set up the print mode so that it prints out horizontally. A heavier paper is recommended, such as construction paper.
For each month draw out each simple sketch and write the words with a black felt marker.
Draw January's picture on the clean sheet, February's on the back of January's calendar, March's on the back of February's calendar, and so forth.
Let your child add the hand and finger prints to decorate the calendar.
Bind it with rings or take it to a professional (such as Kinko's) to add rings.

Month by month:
January
Bundle me warm with your love
(The drawing is two mittens with the ties coming together to form a bow. The child will add one
hand print in each mitten.)
February
My valentine to you
is made ---
With hands in paint
that have been
laid (draw in a small heart here)
Simply make a heart and write the words in the center of the heart. The hands should be placed
down so that the fingers interlock and a heart is made is the center. Do one hand at a time, it is
easier and you can control the outcome better. The child will paint over the words so use a
lighter color paint.
March
A child's love brings spring to our Hearts ( or you can draw a heart and add an "'s")
The drawing is a simple little lamb with some zigzag grass and flowers. Fingers are used to
make dots on the lamb for the wool. Fingers can also be used to make the grass and paint the
flowers. Use an off-white to grey tone for the wool, green for the grass and yellow, pink or red
for the flowers.
April
Shower me with lots of hugs (and draw a small heart)
Draw an umbrella and write the words over top of it.
Fingers can color the umbrella any desired color. Use the fingers also to color light blue
raindrops here and there.
May
A Mother's love grows and grows and grows!
Draw three straight lines. Let your child use fingers to paint the flower pedals and center, leaves
and grass around the flowers. The flowers can all be different colors if desired, yellow for the
center and green for the grass. The writing should be on the bottom so that it appears that the
flowers are growing from them.
June
A Father's love reaches to the sky.....
The writing should be curved and to the side. Draw three circles with a little triangle at the
bottom of the circle and a curvy line attached, in other words, balloons. Let your child choose
the colors used.
July
Oh - say can you see -- your love shining in me!
(Draw a few notes above the words and make the exclamation point into a flag.
Draw a simple flag and let your child paint it using fingertips in the appropriate colors.

your child paint the "water" (under the boat) with fingertips. The boat can be painted if desired.

"Fall" into my world with me (draw a small heart at the end of the sentence.)
Draw two straight lines vertically for the tree trunk. Make lines under the tree to represent the
ground. With brown, red, orange and yellow, and using the fingertips, make autumn leaves on
the tree

We are thankful for many things (draw in three small hearts here)
