Turkeys, Turkeys and More Turkeys

Turkey
Turkey Envelopes

An Easy-To-Make Family Project
For The Thanksgiving Season!

Materials needed:

At least three fall colors of crepe paper, brown craft paper or construction paper, glue, scissors, markers or felt scraps to make turkey face.

Instructions:

Make envelope following the pattern and instructions for Envelope, in craft section. When envelope is constructed, cut the corners off the flap, rounding.

Take the crepe paper out of the package without unfolding. Cut a 3 inch strip across the crepe paper. Repeat for all colors. Cut a feather shape in crepe paper without cutting through the bottom. Do this cutting through all thicknesses of the crepe paper to save time and effort.

Glue the feathers around the flap, gathering slightly, to give the feathers a full look. Do this one color at a time such as a row of red, a row of yellow and a row of orange. Each row should be slightly beneath the other to make a layered effect.

Cut the head out of the brown paper using pattern. Make features on the turkey head using markers, felt scraps etc. Fold on broken line and glue onto the front of the envelope.

Use this as a fun invite to Thanksgiving dinner, even within your own family ( it will make everyone feel special). You could also add a greeting and give to a friend. Another idea for use would be as a napkin holder and name tag for you Thanksgiving dinner, or who knows what, use your imagination. Have fun though, that's a must!
