Instructions: Measure out flour, salt. With a pastry blender, cut of the shortening into the flour until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Cut the remaining half coarsely into the dough until it is pea size. Sprinkle the dough with the water. Blend the water lightly into the dough. note: You may lift the ingredients with a fork, allowing the moisture to spread. If needed add *just enough water to hold ingredients together. When you can gather the dough up into a ball, stop handling it. Roll out and place in the pie pans. Prick bottom of the pie shell with a fork if you are making a one-crust pie. If you're making a top crust, roll out and cut desired design and place on top on filled crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
