Hot Dog Vendor

Recently as I went to the grocery store, I noticed a hot dog vendor. He used to be there every day with his cart, selling hot dogs. He wasn't there for a while, but he is back now. There may have been other hot dog vendors there for the time that he wasn't, I really didn't take note. Why am I centering on this hot dog vendor you may ask? He probably sells the same kind of hot dogs. In fact the other vendors may have had better ones, I don't know. He has a nice looking stand, it's true, but the thing that sets him apart in the crowd is the way he presents himself and his product. He sings! He brightens your day just passing by him, without even buying a hot dog (in fact, I never had gotten one for a long time). He sings, "Hot dogs, delicious hot dogs......" He always greets the passer by with a smile and shares his talent of singing with all who are around. One of my daughters was with me one time when we passed him. She stopped and kind of laughed at the fact that he was singing, but he caught even her attention. The thing that I thought about was how that applied to me.

I am a mom, but am I just an ordinary mom? Do I affect all who pass by or all who are in my care? By the way I present myself I can either inspire or discourage those around me. In business, as well as home life, presentation is everything! I can go through the motions or I can step out and be a little different than the norm. I can use whatever talents that I have to be "different," since everyone has talents and we are all unique. I can be like the hot dog vendor and bring light to the people around me, whether they stop to find out about the inner "me," or not.

Be the Hot Dog Vendor!!

By the way, I have stopped and gotten hot dogs (Polish dogs) from the Hot Dog Vendor and he is a really nice guy, and his hot dogs are really good. That statement is coming from a person who's #1 food is NOT hot dogs.
