Dressing / Stuffing


Ingredients:

  • 2 Packages stuffing bread/ croutons

  • 3 stalks celery, sliced

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 can chicken broth

  • 1 pound sausage, regular or turkey, cooked and crumbled into small pieces

  • Giblets from 1 turkey, cooked and cut into small pieces

  • Juice from giblets

  • milk

  • Spices: 1-2 Tbsp. sage, 2 tsp. garlic powder or fresh garlic, salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  • Cook the giblets, cool, and cut into small pieces. Pull the meat from the neck bones. Set aside.

  • Cook the sausage and set aside.

  • Add all ingredients together, except for the milk. Mix together with hand, as kneading bread. Add the milk as needed to get a moist mixture.

  • Add seasoning packet or use other seasonings, to taste. Continue to mix until it is well blended.

  • Place in a 9 x 11 baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

  • Place in the oven at 350 to 375 until heated as desired.

  • I like a crust on the top, personally, so I leave it in about 30 minutes.

    Or

  • Put into the turkey cavity and cook following directions on Turkey.
