Three Great Dessert Sauces

Serve over Cream Puffs, Ice Cream etc.

 

 

Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 Package Chocolate Chips
  • 1 - 2 Tablespoons milk (you may also use nonfat)
Instructions:

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 - 40 seconds. Stir. Add 1 tablespoon of the milk. Repeat cooking instructions until chips are melted but not cooked, stirring after each time. If you want a thinner sauce, add the rest of the milk.

 



Raspberry Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 10-ounce package frozen red raspberries
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions:

Thaw and crush the frozen red raspberries. Combine with cornstarch. Bring to boiling. Cook and stir until clear and slightly thick. Cool.

NOTE: This recipe can also be used with strawberries, cherries, pineapple (in other words, any fruit) to make a sauce.

 



Lemon Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup fructose or sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
Instructions:

While the water is heating, mix together the fructose or sugar, salt and cornstarch. When water is boiling, add this mixture to the water, stirring continuously with a wire whisk. Continue cooking until the sauce is clear. Remove from heat. Add the lemon extract (lemon juice could also be used for a more tart sauce but we like the extract.
