Scald milk. Add sugar (or Splenda) and shortening. Cool slightly and add the beaten eggs and yeast. Add additional ingredients except flour an mix together. Add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 10 minutes. Let rise (about 1 hours) Roll out on board to make bread or rolls. Add Cinnamon, sugar (or Splenda) and raisins.
Variation: If you like the fruit used in fruit cake or any other dry fruit, this is festive to add to the bread too.
Roll out dough, add cinnamon and raisins and cut into cinnamon rolls using a string to cut through the dough. Simply slip the string under the roll and the cross the string as you slightly pull up. Instead of cinnamon rolls, you could also make a bread. Simply follow the same instructions as for cinnamon rolls but omit the cutting. Grease the pans and put prepared dough onto the pan. Let rise another appoximately 20 minutes until slightly raised.
Bake 20 minutes At 350 degrees.
*NOTE: This is also good without the added raisins etc. For Christmas we braid the bread to give a special look. This bread makes great toast too. You'll love it!
